FX.co ★ DAX Holds Steady In Lackluster Trade

German stocks remained relatively stable on Monday in anticipation of a busy week featuring corporate earnings reports and significant central bank policy meetings.

This week, several major U.S. companies, including Amazon, Apple, Meta, and Microsoft, are scheduled to release their quarterly earnings results, following recent market disappointments from Tesla and Alphabet.

Additionally, the week will be noteworthy for upcoming interest rate decisions from three major central banks: the Bank of England (BOE), the Federal Reserve (Fed), and the Bank of Japan (BOJ).

The DAX index saw a slight increase of 0.1%, reaching 18,439, after climbing 0.7% last Friday.

In corporate developments, Merck surged 3.4% after the pharmaceuticals, lab equipment, and specialty chemicals manufacturer raised its group forecast.

Conversely, Thyssenkrupp, the conglomerate, declined by 1.3% due to a downward revision of its 2024 outlook.
