The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has given its approval for California American Water to acquire the Mesa del Sol water system, located in the Corral de Tierra region of unincorporated Monterey County. This purchase will expand California American Water's service base by adding roughly 15 new water connections to its existing network, which already serves approximately 40,000 connections across the Monterey Peninsula and other areas within the County. The transaction is anticipated to be finalized by early 2025, pending the completion of construction on a physical interconnection and other necessary system enhancements.
