GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes S.A. has announced its intention to submit an initial Chapter 11 reorganization plan to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. This pivotal step aligns with the Plan Support Agreement disclosed on November 6, 2024. The agreement involves GOL, Abra Group Limited—GOL's largest secured creditor and principal investor—as well as various affiliates and the committee representing unsecured creditors in GOL's Chapter 11 proceedings.
In an effort to enhance liquidity and facilitate its post-emergence growth strategy, GOL plans to generate up to $1.85 billion in new capital. This funding includes up to $330 million potentially sourced from external investors through new equity financing.
Further, GOL is set to accept restructured aircraft lease agreements, which have already been negotiated and finalized with lessors. This strategic move is designed to support the airline's long-term operational goals.
