Irish Jobless Rate Ticks Down

Ireland experienced a slight decline in its seasonally adjusted unemployment rate, falling to 4.1% in April 2025, down from a revised 4.4% in March. The total number of unemployed individuals decreased by 8,400 from the previous month, reaching 119,500 in April. Specifically, unemployment among women declined to 57,900, while the rate among men fell to 61,500, down from 62,800 and 65,000, respectively. On a yearly comparison, the unemployment rate also showed a decrease from 4.4% in April 2024 to 4.1%. Additionally, for those in the 25-74 age group, the unemployment rate decreased to 3% in April, compared to 3.5% in March.
