Danish Inflation Rate Stays at 1.5%

In April 2025, Denmark's annual inflation rate remained steady at 1.5%, showing no change from March. There were increases in the prices of several categories, notably in food and non-alcoholic beverages, which rose by 3.7% compared to 5.0% the previous month. Housing and utilities costs also increased, recording a 2.3% rise compared to March's 2.1%. Price hikes were evident in the health sector (up to 1.6% from 1.3%), in restaurants and hotels (jumping to 4.5% from 1.8%), and among miscellaneous goods and services (increasing to 2.4% from 2.3%). Conversely, prices fell in clothing and footwear, dropping by 1.2% following a 1.1% decrease, as well as in recreation and culture, which went down 0.3% after a 1.0% decrease. Prices for alcoholic beverages declined by 1.4% from a 1.5% increase previously. The transport sector saw prices stabilize, after experiencing a 0.3% reduction in March. Core inflation, which strips out energy and unprocessed food, rose slightly to 1.7% from 1.6%. On a monthly scale, consumer prices marginally increased by 0.1%, bouncing back from a 0.5% decrease the prior month.
