DAX Attempts Recovery

Frankfurt’s DAX 40 edged into positive territory on Thursday after a weak opening, adding 0.3% to trade near 24,280, broadly in line with other major European indices. Market participants closely monitored developments in the Middle East conflict, watching for any indications of renewed diplomatic efforts. In earlier negotiations, Iran had reportedly told the United States it was prepared to relinquish its stockpile of highly enriched uranium in exchange for “something good.”

Among individual movers, Airbus, Symrise, and MTU Aero Engines were standout gainers, each advancing by around 2%. Technology stocks and utilities also posted solid gains. In contrast, Merck and DHL remained under pressure, weighed down by their latest earnings releases and a disappointing outlook for 2026.
