Colombia Consumer Confidence Edged Up in February

Colombia’s Consumer Confidence Index inched up to 18.3% in February 2026 from 18.2% in January.

The Consumer Expectations Index rose to 26.3% from 23.8%, indicating stronger sentiment for the next 12 months. This improvement was driven by more positive views of the general economic outlook (18.3% versus 13.8%) and expectations for the national economy (21.3% versus 17.6%). By contrast, optimism regarding future household conditions eased slightly to 39.3% from 40.2%.

These gains were partly offset by a decline in the Economic Conditions Index, which fell to 6.3% from 9.7%. Households reported weaker assessments of their current financial situation (9.7% versus 13.3%), along with reduced willingness to purchase a home (-24.4% versus -22%), durable goods (2.9% versus 6.1%), and vehicles (25.9% versus 32%).

On a yearly basis, overall consumer confidence showed a marked recovery, rising 30.3 percentage points from -12% in February 2025.
