Argentina’s consumer confidence index fell to 40 in April 2026, its lowest level since September 2025 and a 5.7% decline from March. All sub-indices posted negative monthly changes, led by Durable Goods and Real Estate (-9.51%), followed by Macroeconomic Situation (-4.30%) and Personal Situation (-3.96%). Both Present Conditions (-9.03%) and Future Expectations (-3.30%) deteriorated. Confidence dropped across all income segments, with the largest decline among low-income households (-12.60%) compared with high-income households (-1.80%). Regionally, the Interior registered the steepest fall (-10.57%), followed by CABA (-6.69%) and GBA (-1.53%). On a year-on-year basis, the overall index decreased by 10.12%.
