Colombia’s economy expanded by 2.2% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026, slightly below the 2.3% annual growth recorded in the fourth quarter of 2025. The latest gross domestic product (GDP) figures, updated on 15 May 2026, point to a modest loss of momentum while still indicating continued economic expansion.

The data are based on year-over-year comparisons, with the current figure measuring growth in the first quarter of 2026 against the same period a year earlier. The previous indicator likewise reflected the change in the fourth quarter of 2025 relative to the fourth quarter of the prior year. The marginal slowdown suggests that while Colombia remains on a growth path, the pace of recovery has softened at the start of 2026.
