DAX Closes Slightly Higher

Frankfurt’s DAX 40 pared early gains but still finished about 0.5% higher at 25,124 on Tuesday, as investors assessed the chances of a potential US–Iran agreement amid signs of easing tensions in the Middle East. US President Trump said talks with Iran were ongoing and indicated that an interim deal could be reached as soon as next week, following reports of an Israel–Hezbollah ceasefire in Lebanon.

On the macroeconomic front, Eurostat’s flash estimate showed that inflation in May accelerated compared with April, largely due to volatile energy prices, underscoring persistent underlying price pressures.

In corporate moves, Infineon Technologies surged more than 9% to a record high, benefiting from a broader AI-driven rally in semiconductor stocks. Deutsche Post advanced over 3% after receiving a buy recommendation from Kepler Cheuvreux. By contrast, SAP gave up earlier gains to close 3% lower, while Bayer slipped 2.9%, weighed down by ongoing litigation risks in the United States.
