Germany’s export sector posted a modest acceleration in April 2026, with shipments abroad rising 0.9% month-over-month, up from a 0.5% increase in March 2026. The latest data, updated on 09 June 2026, point to a cautiously improving external environment for Europe’s largest economy.

On a month-over-month basis, the “actual” April figure compares the change in exports from April to March, while the “previous” reading reflects the change from March to February. The step-up from 0.5% to 0.9% suggests that, while growth remains moderate, Germany’s export engine is gaining a bit more traction as the second quarter of 2026 gets under way.
