Poland Producer Prices Rise for 3rd Month

Producer prices in Poland increased by 2.4% year-on-year in May 2026, coming in just below market expectations of a 2.5% rise but quickening from an upwardly revised 2.1% gain in April. This was the third consecutive month of producer price growth, following thirty-two straight months of deflation.

By industry, notable price growth was recorded in the mining and quarrying sector, where producer prices advanced 4.3%, up from 3.1% in the previous month. Within this sector, prices in metal ore mining surged 11.5%, while prices in coal and lignite mining declined by 3.4%.

Producer inflation also strengthened in manufacturing, with prices up 2.8% year-on-year compared with 2.5% in April. In the water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities sector, prices rose 1.3%, slightly above the 1.1% increase seen previously.

By contrast, prices in the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sector were 1.6% lower than in May 2025, following a 1.5% year-on-year drop in the prior month.

On a monthly basis, producer prices were unchanged in May, after an upwardly revised 0.6% increase in April.
