Paraguay Annual Inflation Eases in June

Paraguay’s annual inflation rate eased to 2.1% in June 2026, down from 2.4% in May, moving further below the central bank’s 3.5% target. The strongest price increases were recorded in restaurants and hotels (up 8.6% year-on-year), followed by education (5.9%), recreation and culture (2.9%), and food and non-alcoholic beverages (2.2%). By contrast, transport prices fell 1.2%, helping to restrain overall inflation. On a monthly basis, consumer prices declined 0.3%, reversing the 0.1% rise observed in May. Meanwhile, core inflation—which excludes more volatile components—slowed to 1.7% from 1.9%, indicating a further easing of underlying price pressures.
