The S&P Global Flash Australia Services PMI Business Activity Index rose to 53.0 in July 2026 from 50.5 in June, according to preliminary estimates, signalling the strongest expansion since January. This marked a second consecutive month of growth in the services sector, driven by higher output. Employment also continued to rise. On the price front, input costs increased, largely reflecting higher oil prices. In response, firms raised their selling prices, supported by robust demand. Looking ahead, business confidence remained in positive territory after hitting its lowest level since November 2023 in June.
