The DAX 40 climbed more than 0.5% on Thursday to trade above 25,600, its highest level since early July’s record highs, as investors responded positively to robust economic data and a rebound in semiconductor shares. Germany’s economy grew by 0.2% in the first quarter, beating expectations of 0.1% growth, while annual inflation accelerated to 2.8% in July from 2.3%, also exceeding forecasts. Infineon jumped nearly 10%, leading the advance as chipmakers recovered from recent losses. By contrast, Adidas tumbled 13% after raising its revenue outlook but cautioning that rising costs would constrain earnings growth. Airbus also fell about 3% despite posting solid second-quarter results, as investors were disappointed that the aircraft manufacturer merely reaffirmed its full-year guidance instead of upgrading it.
