North Macedonia Industrial Output Rebounds in June

North Macedonia’s industrial production rose by 6.5% year-on-year in June 2026, rebounding from a 2.0% decline in May. Manufacturing output returned to growth, expanding by 7.9% after a 2.6% drop in the previous month. In contrast, mining and quarrying activity weakened further, with output falling 3.8% compared with a 3.6% decline in May, while production in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply reversed to an 8.2% decrease from a 6.1% increase.

By main industrial groupings, growth accelerated for intermediate goods excluding energy, with output up 11.7% versus 3.4% in May. Production also rebounded for capital goods (8.6% vs. -3.3%), durable consumer goods (8.6% vs. -1.1%), and non-durable consumer goods (2.0% vs. -8.4%). At the same time, energy output contracted sharply, dropping 11.1% after a 6.5% rise in the previous month.

Over the first half of 2026, industrial production increased by 0.9% compared with the same period a year earlier.
