Frankfurt's DAX 40 edged higher in the final trading session of July, closing at its strongest level since the record set earlier this month and securing a monthly gain of more than 2%. The advance was underpinned by a sharp rebound in technology stocks, broadly positive corporate earnings, and a continued steep drop in oil prices, even as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East persisted. Chipmaker Infineon led the index with an increase of more than 4%, followed by Hochtief with a 2.7% rise. On the downside, Siemens Healthineers slipped 1% after cutting its revenue guidance for fiscal 2025/26, citing ongoing weakness in its diagnostics division. Elsewhere, defense electronics group Hensoldt reported that order intake more than doubled year-on-year, sportswear maker Puma reiterated its full-year outlook despite softer demand, and wafer producer Siltronic delivered strong quarterly results.
