Egypt’s annual urban inflation accelerated for the first time in four months, rising to 14.9% in July 2026 from 14.3% in June, though it remained below market expectations of 15.1%. This marked the highest inflation rate since April. On a monthly basis, the consumer price index (CPI) was flat, following a 0.4% decline in the previous month, which had been the first monthly decrease since July 2025.
