European Stocks Poised for Higher Open

European equity markets were poised to open higher on Friday, after softer-than-expected US inflation data eased concerns about an imminent interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve. Markets now assign roughly a 35% probability to a 25 basis point Fed rate increase in September, down from about 55% a week earlier. Renewed demand for artificial intelligence-related stocks also bolstered risk appetite across global markets. In Europe, investors will be watching the latest Eurozone GDP, employment and trade figures, as well as German wholesale prices and French inflation data. No major corporate earnings releases are scheduled in Europe on Friday. In premarket trading, futures on the Euro Stoxx 50 and Stoxx 600 were both up around 0.2%.
