On a month-over-month basis, the July outcome indicates that prices fell notably compared with June, in contrast to the previous month’s slight upward movement from May to June. According to the comparison methodology, the “actual” figure for July reflects the change in prices relative to June, while the “previous” June reading captured the change relative to May.

The steep July downturn suggests a sudden easing of short-term inflationary pressure in Botswana’s economy over the summer period.
