Slovakia GDP Growth Slows in Q2

Slovakia’s economy grew by 0.7% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, easing from 0.9% in the previous three-month period, according to preliminary estimates. This was the slowest pace of expansion since the second quarter of 2025. Softer investment activity weighed on overall growth, while the trade surplus remained in positive territory but was smaller than in the same period a year earlier. At the same time, higher final consumption expenditure continued to support GDP growth. On a seasonally adjusted quarterly basis, the economy expanded by 0.2% in Q2 2026, matching the rate recorded in each of the two preceding quarters.
