Kazakhstan GDP Growth Slows in H1 2026

Kazakhstan’s economy grew by 4.1% in the first half of 2026, down from 6.2% in the same period a year earlier. Services output increased by 3.6% and accounted for just over half of total GDP, driven mainly by wholesale and retail trade and the repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, which expanded by 5.7%. Real estate activities rose by 1%, while the transport and warehousing sector grew by 7.1%.

Goods production increased by 5.1%, representing 36.4% of total output, supported by robust gains in manufacturing (9.8%) and in electricity, gas, steam, hot water, and air-conditioning supply (10.5%). Construction was the fastest-growing sector, with output up 15.2%. By contrast, mining and quarrying contracted by 4%.
