Ibovespa Rises as Petrobras and Axia Gain

The Ibovespa advanced more than 0.5% on Tuesday, trading near 168,000 points, driven by heavyweight stocks. Petrobras gained almost 1% as oil prices rose following comments from US President Donald Trump, who said he was not interested in extending the interim peace deal with Iran.

Axia (+0.5%) announced the completion of its second Class C preferred share buyback program, totaling approximately R$2 billion, and Itaú BBA reaffirmed its buy recommendation on the stock. Rede D’Or added roughly 1%, while WEG rose 0.5%.

Major banks traded slightly in negative territory, weighed down by rising global bond yields amid persistent concerns that higher energy costs could fuel inflation.

Meanwhile, Casas Bahia (-7%) is seeking a R$1 billion loan and doubling down on its marketplace strategy after filing for judicial recovery. The company’s shares were halted several times during Monday’s session due to extreme volatility and ended the day down 33%.
