Argentina Consumer Confidence Declines in August

Argentina’s Consumer Confidence Index (ICC) fell 1.08% month-on-month in August 2026, to 40.23 points, following a 4.8% drop in July. Among the sub-indices, Macroeconomic Conditions rose 3.06%, while all other components declined. The steepest fall was in Durable Goods and Real Estate (-4.03%), followed by Personal Situation (-3.31%).

By region, the ICC increased in CABA and Greater Buenos Aires (GBA), but declined in the Interior. GBA posted the largest gain (0.41%), followed by CABA (0.11%), while the Interior registered a 3.79% drop. Despite this decline, the Interior continued to show the highest confidence level at 43.82 points, compared with 38.27 points in GBA, which remained the lowest.

By income level, results were mixed: low-income households recorded a 2.13% increase in the index, whereas high-income households saw a 1.76% decline. However, high-income households still reported higher confidence overall, at 42.68 points, versus 36.76 points for low-income households.
