Sweden’s retail sector continued to expand in July 2026, though at a slightly slower pace than the previous month, according to the latest year-on-year figures released on 28 August 2026. Retail sales rose 6.2% compared with July 2025, easing from a 6.6% annual increase recorded in June 2026.

The data, measured on a year-over-year basis, shows that while momentum has moderated somewhat, consumer spending remains robust. The “previous” indicator reflects June’s 6.6% gain versus June a year earlier, while the “actual” July figure compares sales in July 2026 to those in July 2025. The marginal slowdown suggests that, despite some cooling, Sweden’s retail market is still expanding at a solid clip heading into the latter part of the year.
