Uruguay’s industrial production grew 4.2% year over year in July 2026, following a 5.4% increase in June. The expansion was led by a 10.5% surge in food manufacturing, with additional support from pharmaceutical production, up 7.0%, and paper and paper products, which rose 6.4%. The largest drag on annual industrial output came from beverage manufacturing, which plunged 32.4%. Meanwhile, the Index of Hours Worked by Workers increased 2.6%, while the Employment Index edged down 0.1%. On a month-over-month basis, industrial production declined 1.0% in July.
