According to data updated on 28 September 2026, the August figure reflects a significant loss of momentum in consumer spending compared to the previous month. The comparison is made on a month-over-month basis, meaning August’s change is measured against July, while the earlier 3.0% reading for July represented growth versus June.

The abrupt deceleration suggests that retail activity, which had shown robust expansion in July, weakened markedly heading into late summer, signaling a more cautious consumer backdrop in Lithuania.
