FX.co ★ Swiss Investor Sentiment Weakens as Inflation Risks Rise

Swiss investor sentiment deteriorated markedly in September, with the UBS–CFA Society Switzerland indicator dropping 9.5 points to 2.6, its lowest reading in three months. Despite this pullback, the survey indicates that analysts remain broadly positive about the Swiss economy’s underlying fundamentals, even as worries about inflation intensify.

According to UBS, the proportion of respondents citing inflation as the most significant risk rose to around 22%, the highest level since 2024. This decline in forward-looking expectations stands in contrast to improving views on current economic conditions. The Current Conditions Gauge increased to 17.9 in September from 8.8 in August, indicating that investors see the present state of the economy as stronger, even as they adopt a more cautious stance on the outlook.
