Spain’s current account surplus narrowed to €5.91 billion in July 2026, down from €6.44 billion in July 2025. The decline was mainly driven by a wider deficit in the primary and secondary income balance, which increased to €3.31 billion from €1.84 billion a year earlier. In contrast, the surplus in goods and services rose to €9.22 billion from €8.28 billion, supported by stronger tourism receipts, which grew to €14.08 billion from €12.90 billion. Over the period from January to July, the current account surplus fell to €24.57 billion, compared with €32.93 billion in the same period of 2025.
