U.S. Refinery Crude Runs Swing Lower Week-on-Week, EIA Data Show

U.S. refinery crude runs declined week-over-week, reversing the prior period’s modest gain, according to the latest data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) released on 28 October 2026. The current indicator fell by 0.123 million barrels, compared with a 0.034 million-barrel increase in the previous week.

The figures, measured on a week-over-week basis, highlight a shift in refinery activity, with the latest reading indicating a pullback in crude processing compared to the earlier incremental uptick. The “Actual” value reflects the change in refinery runs for the current week versus the prior week, while the “Previous” value shows how much refinery runs changed in the preceding week relative to the week before that. This week’s negative print suggests refiners reduced throughput after a period of slight expansion.
