Frankfurt's DAX 40 fell more than 1% to below 25,600 on Friday, extending the previous session’s losses as persistent tech-sector jitters continued to weigh on global sentiment. The prospect of tighter US regulation of the AI industry, following the Democrats’ decisive election victory, unsettled investors, pressuring technology stocks and, in turn, dragging down other sectors. On the data front, Germany’s industrial production rose 0.7% month-on-month in September 2026, beating expectations for no change but slowing from a downwardly revised 1.0% increase in August. Daimler Truck was the worst performer, losing nearly 4%, followed by Deutsche Post and Bayer.
