Trump says his multibillion-dollar gains meant for US interests rather than his own benefit

US President Donald Trump responded to Democratic Party criticism of his financial activities, saying that his large-scale trading is carried out entirely in the interests of Americans. On his Truth Social account, the White House chief noted, "I do this for our Country, not myself. I've made Hundreds of Billions of Dollars on Stocks, and many other type Holdings, for the U.S.A., not myself, and all I do is get criticized by the Radical Left Democrats." "Very unfair, but what can you do!" he lamented.

The statement came amid a series of summer investigative reports. Media coverage discovered that the US leader had promoted more than 20 companies on social media whose shares he had bought shortly before posting praising remarks. Besides, while publicly urging investors to back crypto projects, Donald Trump reportedly funneled a significant share of his digital-market gains into conservative instruments, reallocating capital into traditional stocks and bonds.

The president’s conduct in financial markets has repeatedly raised questions among analysts due to the apparent synchronization of trades with his administration’s political actions. Experts pointed to purchases of major tech firms’ stocks after sell-offs triggered by tariffs he imposed, as well as spikes in oil market trading volumes before public statements that led to sharp drops in oil prices.
