Czech Economy Rebounds 0.4%, More Than Estimated

The Czech Republic's economy experienced more growth than initially projected in the final quarter of 2023, according to the recent data published by the country's statistical office on Thursday.

Gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.4 percent in sequence, contrasted with a revised drop of 0.8 percent in the third quarter. This growth rate was initially projected to be 0.2 percent.

Concerning expenditures, both household final consumption and government expenditure witnessed growth, increasing by 0.5 percent and 0.6 percent respectively.

Gross fixed capital formation also reported a positive trend, rising by 2.0 percent. Moreover, exports saw a 2.1 percent uptick, while imports notably decreased by 2.4 percent.

Annually, the GDP for the December quarter saw a modest rise of 0.2 percent, bouncing back from a 0.6 percent decrease in the September quarter. This counters the 0.2 percent decline previously reported on January 30.
