FX.co ★ Japan M2 Money Stock Slows To 2.2% In April

The Bank of Japan reported on Monday that the M2 money stock in Japan increased by 2.2 percent year-over-year in April, amounting to 1,260.1 trillion yen. However, this increase fell short of the expected rise of 2.5 percent, unchanged from readings recorded in March.

The M3 money supply showed an annual increase of 1.6 percent, reaching 1,612.8 trillion yen. This growth rate is slower than the 1.8 percent increase observed the month before.

On another note, the L money supply grew by 1.8 percent year-over-year, reaching 2,144.4 trillion yen. However, this growth also decelerated from the 2.2 percent rate recorded a month prior.
