FX.co ★ TSMC Q2 Profit, Revenues Climb

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd. (TSM) announced on Thursday a 36.3% increase in net income for the second quarter, reaching NT$247.85 billion compared to NT$181.80 billion in the same period last year. Earnings per share rose to NT$9.56, or $1.48 per ADR unit, up from NT$7.01 last year.

Consolidated revenue for TSM also saw a notable rise of 40.1%, climbing to NT$673.51 billion from the previous year's NT$480.84 billion.

On a sequential basis, net income experienced a 9.9% growth, while revenues saw a 13.6% increase from the first quarter.

When converted to US dollars, second-quarter revenue amounted to $20.82 billion, marking a 32.8% rise year-over-year and a 10.3% increase from the prior quarter.
