The AIB Ireland Manufacturing PMI slightly decreased to 51.6 in March 2025 from February's 51.9, yet it continued to surpass the neutral threshold of 50 for the third month running. This signals ongoing improvement in the overall business climate of Ireland's manufacturing sector. March witnessed a further strengthening of business conditions, bolstered by robust growth in both production and new orders. Notably, the increase in manufacturing order books was the most rapid seen in nearly three years, primarily due to a resurgence in export sales. Despite this positive trend, manufacturers exhibit caution regarding short-term growth prospects. Confidence among businesses has waned compared to early 2025, which has consequently lead to a deceleration in job creation. Respondents of the survey expressed concerns about escalating global economic uncertainty and the potentially adverse impacts of US trade tariffs on future business conditions.
