India and the United States are set to resume trade discussions in New Delhi today, as reported by Reuters. This development rekindles hopes for a significant breakthrough just weeks after President Donald Trump enforced substantial tariffs on Indian exports, a move prompted by India's continued acquisition of Russian oil. The recent shift in Trump's stance towards a more conciliatory approach has raised expectations for the finalization of a trade agreement. Brendan Lynch, the U.S. Trade Representative for South Asia, is scheduled to participate in a day of discussions, as confirmed by India's chief negotiator, Rajesh Agarwal. While these talks are part of ongoing bilateral negotiations, no additional specifics were disclosed.
