Poland Producer Deflation Softest in 5-Months

Producer prices in Poland experienced a year-on-year decrease of 1.2% in August 2025, surpassing market expectations of a 0.9% decline and showing an improvement from the previously revised 1.3% fall seen in July. This represents the mildest producer deflation since March. Notably, the rate of price reduction slowed in sectors such as mining and quarrying, which saw a decrease of 6.9% compared to 8.2% in July, manufacturing, which had a 1.1% drop versus 1.2%, and electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply, where prices declined by 0.8% as opposed to 0.9%. Conversely, the cost increased more rapidly in the water supply and waste management sector, rising by 2.6% compared to 2.5% previously. On a month-by-month comparison, producer prices fell by 0.4% in August, following a revised 0.2% decline in the previous month.
