Norway Factory Activity Contracts for 2nd Month

In September 2025, Norway's DNB Manufacturing PMI saw a slight increase to 49.9, up from 49.6 in August, though it still indicated a contraction for the second month in a row. The production index experienced a marginal rise to 52.2 from the previous month's 52.0. However, new orders showed a decline, moving down to 49.5 from 50.1, with both domestic orders at 47.8 and export orders at 47.3, falling short of growth benchmarks. On a positive note, the employment index saw a significant improvement, climbing to 47.3 from 42.8 after having declined over the past two months. Inventory levels for purchased goods decreased slightly to 48.2 from 48.8, suggesting stronger demand and buttressing the overall index. Meanwhile, supplier delivery times improved, dropping to 49.1 from 52.3, an indicator of softened business activity. The input price index also fell to 59.6 from 61.4, although it continued to signal ongoing price increases.
