The BSE Sensex in India concluded Friday's trading session with a downturn of approximately 0.6%, settling at 83,938.7, marking the lowest point since October 16. This decline extended its losing streak to a second consecutive day. Investor sentiment was dampened by foreign fund outflows, mixed corporate earnings, and the ongoing uncertainty regarding the US Federal Reserve's future interest rate decisions. Meanwhile, the US-China trade agreement received a cautious response. Key underperformers included Eternal, NTPC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Power Grid, Trent, and HDFC Bank, all declining between 1% and 3.5%. Conversely, Bharat Electronics surged nearly 4% in anticipation of its quarterly earnings and after securing additional orders valued at 7.32 billion rupees. Notable gainers in the session were Larsen & Toubro, Tata Consultancy Services, and State Bank of India, which saw increases ranging from 0.3% to 1.1%. ITC also rose by 0.4% following a stronger-than-expected profit report for the second quarter on Thursday. Over the week, the index experienced a 0.3% drop, the first weekly decline in five weeks, yet recorded a commendable 4.6% gain for the month.
