In September 2025, the number of private house approvals in Australia rose by 4.0% from the previous month, amounting to 9,547 units, according to preliminary estimates. This marks a recovery from a revised decline of 1.0% in the month prior. This figure represents the highest level of house approvals since August 2022. The increase was particularly driven by notable upticks in New South Wales (7.8%), South Australia (7.4%), Victoria (7.3%), and Western Australia (6.8%). Conversely, Queensland experienced a decrease of 6.9%. Year-over-year, the number of private house permits remained steady.
