Turkey Inflation Rate Hits Near 4-Year Low

In October 2025, Turkey's annual inflation rate decreased to 32.87% from the previous month's 33.29%, falling short of market predictions of 33.2%. This marks the lowest inflation rate since November 2021, with a notable price moderation across most sub-categories. Specifically, the inflation rate for food and non-alcoholic beverages decreased to 34.87% from 36.06% in September, while housing saw a slight decline to 50.96% from 51.36%. Clothing and footwear dropped to 7.98% from 9.8%, furnishings and household equipment to 28.9% from 29.32%, health to 32.06% from 35.21%, communications to 19.35% from 23.2%, education to 65.69% from 66.1%, hotels, cafes, and restaurants to 33.78% from 33.91%, and miscellaneous goods and services to 30.13% from 31.6%. Conversely, there was a rise in costs for transport, which increased to 27.33% from 25.3%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco to 27.56% from 24.49%, and recreation and culture to 25.32% from 24.85%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices rose by 2.55% in October, easing from September's eight-month high of 3.23% and below the anticipated 2.83%.
