The Indian government has announced the implementation of a five-year anti-dumping duty on liquid epoxy resins imported from China, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, and South Korea as of Monday. This measure is intended to address the issue of low-priced imports that officials claim have been disrupting domestic market pricing, as reported by The Economic Times. Liquid epoxy resins, which are highly valued for their corrosion-resistant properties, are extensively utilized in industrial and automobile paints and serve as a crucial component across various manufacturing sectors. This decision comes on the heels of an investigation by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies. In August, they recommended this duty after domestic producers indicated that the influx of cheaper imports was undermining local prices and adversely affecting competition.
