Brazil Vehicle Registrations Fall Despite Strong Daily Pace

In November 2025, Brazil experienced an 8.5% decline in new car sales, amounting to 238.6 thousand units, down from 260.7 thousand units in October. Registrations of passenger cars decreased by 5.6%, reaching 182.1 thousand, while light commercial vehicle sales dropped significantly by 18% to 45.4 thousand units. Truck sales saw a decrease of 16.3%, totaling 8.9 thousand units, although bus registrations increased by 11.8% to 2,203 units. Toyota recorded the most significant sales drop among major brands, with a decline of 46.4%, totaling 4,068 units. Compared to the previous year, registrations were down by 5.9%. Despite having the highest daily average of the year at 12.6 thousand vehicles in November, sales have consistently lagged behind 2024 figures for a fourth consecutive month. Consequently, from January to November, cumulative registrations reached 2.41 million units, representing a modest increase of 1.4% compared to the same period in 2024. This growth is primarily supported by the sale of imported cars, as domestic model sales showed a marginal increase of just 0.1%.
