On Monday, the Ibovespa index advanced nearly 1%, nearing the 162,000 threshold as it mirrored gains from the US markets, marking its fourth consecutive session of growth. Investors analyzed new domestic data, notably the central bank's Focus Bulletin which indicated the median CPI forecast had decreased again, moving to 4.36% from a previous 4.40%. Additionally, projections for the Selic rate in 2026 were adjusted downward to 12.13% from 12.25%. Simultaneously, the IBC-Br economic activity index revealed a month-on-month contraction of 0.2%. On the corporate front, Rede D’Or São Luiz emerged as a top performer, surging over 4% following its decision to distribute Interest on Equity and dividends to its shareholders. Braskem also saw more than a 4% increase after announcing that the conglomerate Novonor had reached an agreement to sell its controlling interest to the private equity firm IG4 Capital. Major banks also saw gains, with Itaú rising 0.7% and Bradesco climbing over 1%.
