Austria Inflation Steady in November

The annual inflation rate in Austria was recorded at 4% in November 2025, aligning with previous two months and slightly below the initial projections. The primary factor driving price increases continued to be the housing and utilities sector, which maintained a rate of 6.6% primarily due to elevated costs of electricity, gas, and other fuels. This was followed by inflation in restaurants and hotels, which recorded a slightly reduced rate of 5.9% compared to 6% in October; food and non-alcoholic beverages, which saw a decrease to 3.6% from 4%; health services, which rose to 5.3% from 5%; and education, which decreased to 4.5% from 5.2%. Conversely, there was a continued decline in costs related to communication, which stood at -5.7%, improving from -6.4%, while deflation remained steady for furnishings, household equipment, and maintenance, holding at -0.6%. When evaluated on a monthly basis, consumer prices saw a rise of 0.3% in November, which was a deceleration from the 0.4% increase observed in the preceding month.
