Estonia Retail Sales Fall in November

Retail sales in Estonia decreased by 0.4% year-over-year in November 2025, a downturn from the four-month apex of 4.0% registered in the previous month. Among outlets offering manufactured goods, mail-order and online sales witnessed the most significant decline, falling by 9.7% compared to a 4.8% decrease in October. Additionally, turnover volume fell further in other non-specialized stores, dropping 8.3% from 6.2% previously, and in non-specialized stores chiefly dealing in food, beverages, or tobacco, which saw a decrease of 4.7% compared to 2.4%. Stores focusing on household goods and appliances, hardware, and building materials also experienced a drop, with sales slumping by 6.4% from 6.1%. Although sales growth for automotive fuel decelerated to 13.0% from 24.9%, and for electronics like computers, peripheral units, and telecommunications equipment to 8.0% from 20.7%, sales of second-hand goods, retail in kiosks and markets, and other retail outside traditional venues improved, accelerating by 10.3% from 4.3%. On a month-to-month basis, retail activity plunged by 4.8% to the lowest point in ten months, following a 5.9% increase in October.
