The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained steady at 5.0% in December 2025, consistent with the revised figure from the prior month. The total number of unemployed individuals increased by 1,400 from the previous month, reaching 148,700. When analyzed by gender, the unemployment rate for men slightly decreased to 4.9% from 5.0%, whereas the rate for women held steady at 5.0%. An examination by age group shows that the unemployment rate for 15 to 24-year-olds stayed constant at 13.4%, while the rate for those aged 25 to 74 fell slightly to 3.7% from November's 3.8%. For reference, in December 2024, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was lower, at 4.5%.
