In December 2025, average hourly earnings for all employees on U.S. private nonfarm payrolls increased by 12 cents, or 0.3%, to reach $37.02, aligning with market expectations. This followed a revised upward increase of 0.2% in November. Meanwhile, the average hourly earnings for private-sector production and nonsupervisory employees slightly rose by 3 cents to $31.76. Over the past year, average hourly earnings grew by 3.8% in December, marking the largest increase in four months. This followed an upwardly revised 3.6% increase in November and exceeded the market's anticipated 3.6% growth.
