Lithuania Producer Prices Drop Most in Eight Months

Producer prices in Lithuania decreased by 1.8% year-on-year in December 2025, following a revised decline of 0.8% in the previous month. This represents the twelfth consecutive month of producer deflation and the most significant contraction in eight months. The decrease was notably attributed to reduced costs in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities, which fell by 2.7%, compared to a 4.1% decline in November. Also, there was a further reduction in prices for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning, which saw a decline of 0.7% compared to a 0.5% drop previously, and manufacturing, which fell by 3.4% against a previous decline of 0.9%. The manufacturing sector was particularly affected by a significant drop in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products, plunging by 15.3% compared to a 4.1% decline. Conversely, costs increased in the mining and quarrying sector, rising by 1.7% compared to 1% previously. On a monthly comparison, producer prices fell by 1.8% in December, contrasting with a revised 0.6% growth in the previous month.
